Hi, I know i know, yet another running board thread! I have some questions on size and style.

Here is a pic of my new (used) 2017 crew cab Lonestar

Is something like 6" wide too big or stick out? I do need them to get in the drivers seat, I was thinking bigger is better?

I also want boards that will extend tire to tire so I can step up to the bed.

Is this style truck calling for chrome boards rather than black?

Looking for the longer tire to tire boards, I came across this. Not sure if aluminum is off color from the chrome enough to matter.

Thanks

Edit: now that I'm looking at my own photo I think black is ok. Looking at the 7" grip step by the same company luverene

IMG_1427.JPG Unless you get rid of your existing chrome, I would pass on the dull or matte finishes. Either black, chrome or polished stainless would look better in my opinion. I vote for chrome or stainless. These are what I have. https://www.raptorseries.com/running_boards . They are running boards as opposed to steps. There isn't a wheel to wheel option, but they are wide so with mud flaps its almost impossible for the front tires to pile mud or snow on them, and since there's no gap between the board and the truck, nothing can hit the truck and chip the paint. I posted the best picture of mine I could find.

Thanks I like those a lot, would look good on my truck, affordable, and I really like that they are closed in so you can't get your foot caught in there. I do want the extended to get in the bed though, I'll bookmark these and keep looking for now. I don't think anyone makes a product that would be both closed in and extend tire to tire.

I think you can buy a step that mounts under the truck and folds down to access your bed from the front if you wanted to get that. But you are right if your foot slips on a step bar you can go between the step and the truck.

Westin 5" Pro Traxx in stainless would look real good on that truck.

I have the factory wheel to wheel boards and love them.

I got the Aries AdvantagEdge also during an Amazon sale after seeing them on wallacemf's truck. They had 9" longer ones available than these but it wasn't worth the extra $150 or so to me. Very happy with them.
