Bought my ram 1500 5.9 recently, and when shifting into 4 high i started to hear a clunking sound and felt a slight bump. It first would only happen when in park, but now happens always. The sound/feeling comes from under the driver side footboard. I have videos of the sound from in the cabin and from under the truck around the transmission, but they are too large to upload on here. I can email videos to whoever is willing. thanks!

That happens when you shift INTO 4x4? I used to have that exact same thing happen but it happened when I shifted OUT of 4x4, especially if it was cold outside. I'm told this was normal and the "clunk" was much less severe if I moved the truck a few feet in reverse after disengaging the 4x4. I've since switched to a mechanical engagement system, so the problem disappeared.
