Setting codes P340 cam pos sensor circuit malfunction and P1391 intermittent loss of CMP or CKP.... 2000 Ram 1500 4x4 5.9L 4x4 backfires and exhuast got very hot. replacing cat and 02's next week, and installing custom exhaust.

Any help with fixing this and difficulty and suggestions?

I un bolted the ypipe / cat - sensors still hooked up - and removed the exhaust from cat on back, I think the cat internals are in the muffler!! :) its HEAVY. How hard is the cam sensor to change (and pigtail)? The 02s and cat are being replaced (NGK and Magnaflow) from NAPA with a custom built exhaust.

more help needed

I changed the camshaft sensor and the cat and both 02 sensors.


Now I have
P753 Shift solenoid A Electrical
p1763 govvernor sensor pressure voltage to high
p1691 fuel injec pump controller calibration error

It idles smooth, and alot slower - around 600-700 rpm;

under load has a bad miss.

idles well at startup (cold) then runs rough in part at 1500+ rpm
