Anyone has an opinion on which one is more effective? I have the factory quad headlights.

The factory DRL is usually on the high beam on a lower power setting....that being said, when I did a retrofit with HID projectors, I used y turn/running lights as the DRL's. (LED bulbs/amber).

None. They're pointless and ugly.

When it comes to lights, i am to lazy to change anything

I just have my headlight switch on AUTO & i have a bottle cap covering the little dome next to the Alpine center Speaker

Now i have headlights on all the time that the Ram ignition is on
Here in California, we have several 2 lane highways that have signs requiring that your headlights have to be on 24/7
Besides that, in my business, headlights are required to be on whenever i am escorting a semi truck

The high beam would have been my preferred choice, except with LED bulbs installed they tend to flicker. As of now, my DRL are set to Turn Signal after finding compatible LED's for them, but I honestly feel like they aren't visible enough.

Set your turns to the drl, set turns and parking lights to led, install a set of diode dynamics hp24 switchbacks. Headlights off, they run amber. Headlights on, they run white. Or, if you turn your headlight switch to parking lights, they should light up white as well. Sorry for the lack or a quality picture. But you can see they are plenty bright.

I too have HID headlights. So I made my Baja Designs LED Quad fog lights my DRLs.
With AlfaOBD software you can select the turns, the low beam, the high beam or the fogs as your DRLs.

The LED bulbs I had were very noticeable. I tried running the DRL's on the high beam projectors I had but they flickered like you said because they were LED's. I just switched them to the parking/turn signals and they were plenty bright during the day & night.

I will stick to the turn signal DRL then. I was generally looking at which color catches a driver's attention without causing too much glare.

pardon my ignorance but how do you switch what light is your DRL? Is a programmer or something required for this? Only asking because I will be looking to do LED HI Low Fog and switchback turn signals on mine as well.

My mistake thank you, something else to research now :Big Laugh:
AlfaOBD is probably the best bang for your buck and will do so many things. My bet is after you do your research you will buy it. There's a ton of info about it. Let us know.

Definitely not pointless. Millions of $ worth of studies to prove you wrong there. Hense the reason it's a legal requirement in alot of regions.
Ugly... That's debatable. Depends on where and what type of light source and shape.

Lol, no.

If all cars have their headlights on during the day, the one without headlights on stands out more.

How many times have you seen cars driving around at night with only the drls on? I bet it's far more times than you've seen cars with nothing on at night. How helpful is that?
