Hello all. Before I start, YES I did a search, but I can’t find anything with my specific issue. I installed a HID kit a while back and everything works great. No flickering or outages. However, the only thing is the “headlight out” message now pops up. Never really bothered me so I left it alone (it only comes on for a few seconds anyway). Now, I recently deleted my air suspension and with it I sprung for AlfaOBD. I followed steps (from this wonderful forum) and the air suspension is completely gone from the truck, no dash alerts.

My issue is that with the HID kit that I went with, it only uses one harness to power both headlights. I thought it was weird, but that’s how the instructions were written. I now know that the kit isn’t the issue, it’s the fact the one harness simply doesn’t have anything connected to it, hence the error. Does anyone know how to remove the error via AlfaOBD or maybe disable it? I know I can clear the code, but it will come back. Looking for a permanent fix.IMG_9587.jpeg

I went with Underground Lighting. I wouldn’t consider it a “code” per se, because the stock harness is just not hooked up to anything. This is the way I understood the instructions. I hope I didn’t do anything wrong. But the lights work great!

I read before that AlphaOBD has an option to switch headlights to HID. If that doesn't fix it, see about decoders for the HID kit. A video I saw before on installing HID said no need for the harness but to install a ballast on each headlight. Not sure if either option helps but worth a try if you haven't yet. I feel like it has to do with both being connected to one side. I have a Morimoto kit with the decoders but haven't put them in yet. I just used LEDs for now and have to get AlphaOBD to stop the flickering.

I did try switching to HID and LED in Alfa but to no avail, still have the warning message. I clear the fault, but then it comes back. I did reach out to Underground Lighting and they are aware of the error message, but even they have no idea how to get rid of it. I guess I’ll just have to live with it.

I would give Danny @Underground Lighting a chance to help you. He is fantastic and will make it simple.

HE can be reached at 718-986-2146.

If you have one harness just t!ed up and out of the way, stick an old halogen bulb in it,just make sure it's not tied anywhere where the heat off it can hurt something like wiring

Well hot damn, I did not think of that. Here I am thinking more technical and you come up with the simplest of solutions, haha. I’ll try that this weekend! I believe I still have my original bulbs. Thanks man!

Odds are it won't last all that long, but once it burns out, hack up the bulb and use it to solder in a resistor,or adapt it to something like an 1157 bulb .An unprotected halogen usually doesn't last all that long, but it'll get you by for now, then once it burns out,mod it,lol

Get some plug in headlight load resistors, they'll last longer than using a headlight bulb.

Well fellas, I tried the simple solution provided by Wild One and it did not work, unfortunately. I tried both bulbs that were there before and neither made the error go away. I let it sit a few times, came back, started it a few times, but the error remains. I’m wondering if it’s the HID harness itself that’s tricking the lighting system. I’ve read that the 2015 lighting system is more “temperamental” than any other 4th gen year. Oh well, gave it a shot. I’ll just live with it. Thanks for all the suggestions!
