I work in construction, so I drive on job sites that are usually dirt covered in nails (I do earth moving and paving). What are some tires that will have traction in mud and rain and also be able to run over construction entrances (6" rock) and screws and nails that might be lying around?

I work construction and run Mickey Thompson atz p3s. Got over 40,000 miles out of my last set on my 2500. I could've gotten more if I would've gotten an alignment earlier and rotated more.

BFG K02s are fantastic and have extra sidewall layers for that very reason.

I’m very happy with my Nitto G2 tires on my 1500. I run E rated tires for the stiffer sidewalls. I also work construction. I’ve had one nail in the last 5yrs. Maybe it’s luck, maybe it’s me, maybe it’s the tires. My first set I got something like 70k miles out of them.
I also recommend America’s tire. The service, flat repair, price, can’t be beat in my opinion.

most any AT tire will give you the traction, you are looking for, but puncture reistance is still gonna be almost the same, be it a 2 ply p-metric, or a 10 ply LT. going to an LT will gin you 1 or 2 more actual plys (notice it's a rating). but as long as it is a pneumatic tire, nails and screws are your enemy

I see your Construction and raise you one Railroad yard, that ha been in existence for almost two Century's.
Nails, Railroad Spikes ,Tie Plate and other chunks or strips of metal buried tens of feet deep, in all kinds of Ballast. Not nice soft Dirt.

Have NEVER had a flat with E rated Michelin LTX Defenders M/S
My Dad, another Railroader, started running 10plys, back in the 70's due to just that reason.
He was tired of buying tires. He paid more but actually got to replace tire due to tread life not Death by Debris.

When it comes to nails and screws deeper tread depth is your friend. I'd go with toyo open country. My nitto ridge grappler have already had 2 screw punctures in 10,000 km, but that's just bad luck. I am unimpressed with rain traction though and will go back to toyos once they wear out.

This has got to be a joke. Duratracs get punctures from driving on gravel roads... Stay FAR away from them.

I have been happy with Ridge Grapplers. Only had one screw stuck in the deepest part of the tread but it did not puncture through. I travel a lot of gravel roads and you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at the tire. No chips taken out, still look like road tires but they do pick up and throw a lot of rocks.

I also keep a set of plugs/tools in the truck to fix the nail holes. I used to have a little 12v compressor but it broke . I need to get a new one.

I drive into new construction sites quite often
We take double wide trailers into a site
Then we come back with roof trusses, etc.

I have learned not to turn the tires when the tires are not rolling
I run Michelin LTX Defenders M/S, they seem to work well on wet clay

Nitto Grapplers are hard to beat. Hercules tires are a very close second. Make sure you stay with 10 ply.
