I'm not sure if I can post this here.

So here goes...

Who has the highest mileage 4th Generation Hemi 5.7 on this forum without having done any work internally?

I bought my 2014 RAM with 117,000 on it and I have now 123,000 on it without any problems.
I change the oil and filter every 5k and all seem to be running fine so far.
How many miles do the Hemi 5.7's achieve before needing attention internally?

A friend has a 2003 5.7 in a 1/2 ton with original trans and motor. Over 375,000 miles…….runs drive thru quick lube conventional 5w30 or off the shelf 5w30 with a generic filter. 3,000-5,000 mile intervals

He says…

Iv never seen the odometer yet personally

Bought it used with a bit over 100,000 and he towed a 6,000 lbs work trailer daily for about 5 years with it as a Union carpenter.

Still drives it every day but no more trailer. Takes it on vacation to the U.P. Too

Edit:

Scariest part, and I wished him luck after hearing this, trans has never had a fluid filter change since he has owned it!!!!! No clue if the previous owner did it either. His dad told hom when he was a kid that trans fluid changes were not a good idea.. lol.

Wow, this is truly amazing!!!

This is my first full size truck and first RAM.

When were renting trucks in Arizona to move from house to house I found the RAM was the best fit for me.

I am amazed at what they offered on the 2014 RAM. I feel real lucky to stumble upon this used vehicle.

All the other RAM's I test drove before this one were in really sad shape.

I bought a 2014 Sport 4wd 5.7 brand new in Dec. 2013. Just rolled 160,000 miles. It has over 25k miles towing heavy trailers and has been used as a truck. It has never left me anywhere. I've had to replace manifold bolts on both sides and a few batteries. It has had the common ZF transmission shudder since 135k miles and the map lights are burned out but everything else works like new! I run the Pennzoil platinum high mileage 5w20 and Fram synthetic filter. Best truck I've owned.

I have to laugh. A few years ago owners of Gen-4's (before they were old enough to stack up 'high-miles') were claiming all over this board (and others) the engines wouldn't last very long (cam/hemi-tic, etc). Now we're starting to see a lot of high-mile trucks. I guess the point is, sure some fail early (maybe too many) but you never know.

Mine's got 175k. Runs great ...but I don't put too many miles on a yr anymore.

2017 with 153K miles, no ticks or weird noises, remote start most of the time. Oil changed at the dealer before it hits 0%. My daily driver and runs like a top. Oh yeah, I do shut the MDS off every time it goes in drive. Parked outside all year.

Current mileage; 35685kms. Snapped this pic at the end of Sept. Low kms. Unfortunately w/our winters, our Ram sits and idles alot. Have to have a warm cab for the wife & kids. I do, do my best to avoid short trips. I plug the block heater in if I believe the temp will drop below -15°C. Have heard a slight knock upon cold start once or twice. Never thrown any codes. Running strong.
Sorry accidently hit the "post" button!

Original owner, bought new and left the dealer lot with 7 miles on it. Bone stock with the exception of K&N Cold Air Intake. 196k and change and still runs like a dream. Motor is stout and trans shifts like butter.. The Hemi MDS gets a lot of hate but it's hard to argue with 22.4 MPG on a 460 mile road trip.

Dealer serviced for routine PM at 5k intervals with Mopar oil & filters and beyond that I have followed the recommended service schedule in the owners manual.

Repairs done include:

Exhaust manifold (x3)
Water pump
Front hubs
Front sway bar bushings
Rear shocks
Rear axle
Fuel filler assembly

All covered by Chrysler Lifetime MaxCare. Planning on running it until the dealer refuses to fix it anymore . Fun fact, FCA recently offered to do a cash buyout of my warranty for more than double what I paid for it.

New on this forum. But thought I'd post here first. I have a 2014 Ram 2500 BigHorn 5.7 4x4 with 220,142 miles with the original motor and trans. No "Hemi tick" and I just serviced the trans today. Shifting good so far still.
