Can anyone recommend a good touch up paint / sealant for very small chips in the hood (down to the metal)? I have a couple and don’t want them to spread or chip/flake away more. Not overly concerned with exact color match because they’re so small, just want something black that will seal it up good. These are about the size of a BB or grain of rice but I figure nip it in the bud before it’s a problem…

the best metal primer is that grey rust olium in a rattle can you can spray some onto a micro brush and work it in but I’d clean it first with some rust mort

eventually have a professional color touch up painter go at it with 2500 and buff the heck out of it and color match your paint

I sincerely hope that first picture is just the camera making it look so bad! Automotivetouch up.com do great matches. And MUCH cheaper than OEM. I paid over $14 for a stupid little touch up pen for my wife’s jeep. Tho it IS a great match.

If you are just looking to touch it up. Go with Dodge. They take your VIN and match it perfectly. I have done this with Ford as well. Its the same price as the dupli crap pens.

I have a ding right down to the metal on the roof line, dead center, just above the windshield on my 2019 classic. I didn't notice it until after I bought it used (ex-rental) a year old w/ 15K miles. Other than that spot being a nightmare to reach, I dabbed a dot of rustbullet over it and then dabbed a color matched paint pen over that. It's been a year and it's held up so far.

Unfortunately you're still going to see those dings no matter what you DIY. My take on them is atleast they're protected. I try to keep my vehicles looking nice, but at the end of the day they're a tool that gets used.

Yes, it is an extreme close up lol... the second picture is from normal range view standing there looking down at it. No bigger than a grain of rice. I'm not worried about it being an exact match and/or disappearing, I just want it protected and not stand out so much. Appreciate all the replies.
