What makes a sport hood? my 2018 Limited Tungsten has no mention of a sport hood on the window sticker but it has the fake vents/grills. is this the same hood as the Rebel? want to order a small good looking chip protector for my new truck.

Yup, it's those fake grills and the extra bulge to the hood that make it the sport hood. If you look up the part in Mopar's system, they list it as "Hood w/ Power Bulge" <insert dirty joke here> :)

After having a couple Sports models, I'd maybe suggest instead of a "chip protector" you should think about having the complete front end wrapped with something like 3M protective film. It will help prevent chips and protect the paint much better. It's not the cheapest thing to do but it's a lot cheaper than repainting the whole front end after a year or so.

On the GMT800 (99-05 ish) GM trucks, they caused a pretty measureable decline in MPG due to airflow issues. Do these have that same effect on 4th gen RAMs?

I've got one of the ones that sit tight to the leading edge of the hood, an AVS Matte Black Areoskin and I did not notice any decline in MPG.
