I don't know if anybody saw the post on the FB page, but apparently that weekend is some big motorcycle rally too....supposed to be something like 100,000 bikes there. Sheesh, that means the island is going to be PACKED.

We would have to pick the one weekend that's going on. Means trying to go somewhere to eat is going to be near impossible to fit our big group.

I'm not too worried about the beach being packed. Most people aren't going to know about this area or will want to drive that far to the end of the island. Just if we want to leave the beach to cruise around we won't be alone....

The event is called the Lone Star Rally. I just looked it up.

I don't know if we should move it at all. Gonna suck having so many other people on the island, but I think some people have already made arrangements to get off work that weekend. It's probably too late to change it; we'll just have to make the best of it.

At this point I'm not inclined move locations, but I think eating may be ruled out and everyone will be on their own. The area we'll be at is just too good of a spot, and I really don't think bikers will get down that far. The sand is too loose in some areas to see any bikes on the beach there.

We can still plan on a cruise to the other side of the island though. That could be fun.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to remove myself from this meet as I wont be able to afford to make the trip. Some things have popped up and moneys got to go else were. Maybe some other time though.

I've heard some talk on the other forum about a couple people maybe bringing bbq pits and cooking hamburgers and hotdogs....it's more just talk at this point I think though. Hopefully the week or two before we'll have that settled. Food or not, we'll have a good time.

Again, if you have a quad/atv/utv that you want to bring out, feel free. I'll be bringing my 4 wheeler.

Do you guys think my 2wd will be ok down there? I have 305/50 r20 nitto 420's. I have been looking for some more meets in the Houston area and think this would be a blast! The wife and I have a small Propane grill that works great for camping bad the cooler will transport meat just fine.

You'll have to stay on the packed sand, but that's still a pretty big area. As long as you have a hitch or tow hooks one of us can always give you a tug if needed. We have lots of 2wds coming out. If you have a little ground clearance and can get a little speed you'll be fine though.

Sounds good man, put me on the list! I'm excited to meet some local gear heads. Do Sony of you guys go to the local car meets?

Got you added. I don't go to shows much. Some go to the Coffee and Car's meet the first Saturday of the month.
