I have a 95 std cab short bed with a very rusty frame. I sort of fell into a later frame that I want to use. it is very nice. almost rust free, and just surface rust. I do not know what year it is from. Does anyone know how to tell the year? It is a quad cab frame, so I think that makes it at least 98. A lot of stuff, brakes, control arms, wheel bearings, etc. are listed as different part numbers on later trucks. Knowing what year this frame is would make part purchases in the future a lot easier. Does anyone know how to tell?

I do actually have the 360/5.9 magnum engine from this truck, but I have no body parts. If that helps...

Try locating the vin numbers , they will be stamped into the frame somewhere. Maybe on the drivers side ,about firewall or back.

I can't find a vin on the frame anywhere. Looking around online, I haven't found any good info on where it might be. And, if the older cars I have ahad are any indication, it would probably only be the sequence number anyway. Probably not the whole VIN.

Yeah , I would not except the full vin but there gotta be something somewhere.
Do you know any body shops ? They may know .
I bet scrap recycling yards might have information, they don’t want anything stolen.

Or if you know a police officer that’s a detective, they should have this information for theft identification purposes.

It may take a little to find a cooperative detective who is willing to help out, but it can’t hurt to ask.

Bring a pretty lady to ask , it seems as they can receive positive results or at least an answer .
