After a long happy relationship with my 2016 Ram 3500 Laramie, it's time for me to move on. I want to sell to a private buyer at a fair price, but I do not know how to determine that price. The short story is my truck is in excellent condition mechanically, but only fair condition cosmetically (no major accidents). It has never been garaged. The original build was to accommodate towing a fifth wheel trailer and it was used for that purpose for a number of years.

Any and all suggestions are welcome. Also, was wondering about the best place to list it?IMG_2335.jpg

When buying or selling, I always check KBB first, then spend a couple hours on my local FB marketplace to see what people are actually trying to get out of theirs. My recent experience is that most people sell a little under KBB value.

You want an uneducated buyer, because of the EGR cooler situation. A 2016 is going to be gummed to hell and back, which is a large expense. You have to post miles for any type of number. You can look at craigslist and see what others are asking. If you want to sell it fast go that low or lower. You can always try for a higher number. Try multiple platforms Facebook others like eBay. See least see what the big names will give you, carvana type. Looks like 40ish give it take 10k. Fair condition visually is a problem, people are that shallow.

One issue with selling it privately,is you will be the one they yell at if something goes wrong, and they might even expect you to cover the repair costs if it happens with-in a couple months.
Just letting you know, that private sales can come back and haunt you

These numbers will simply be best case scenario.

You can put or BO, because pricing it is one thing, selling it is another. In the end it is only worth what someone will pay. I always like going to the bank with the buyer and handling it that way.
