My truck is a 2004 QC 2wd model with the 4.7 V8. The engine runs smooth and very strong, even for my truck having almost 230,000 miles. I want to keep this engine running this way. Any tips for keeping the engine going as long as possible? I keep up with regular maintenance, and I am noticing a slow but steady oil seepage from the bottom front side of the engine. Looks like it's coming from the oil pan, but it could also be the front main oil seal. How difficult is it to change the front oil seal? Can I change this seal without pulling the engine? I only have hand tools, no air tools or hydraulic tools like an engine puller.

Yes you can replace the seal engine in truck but you will have to pull everything off the front end of the engine. I would say keep on whatever it is you are doing since you have a 4.7 pushing 230,000 miles lol. Normal advice is usually don't overheat it, make sure it gets warmed up enough (no cold short trips) to burn off the condensation in the crankcase, use synthetic to keep the sludge build up to a minimum, etc. Like I said though, you've got it well past the life expectancy most people get; tell everyone YOUR secrets lol.
