looking for possible causes of loss of torque when climbing hills on highway interstates. I regularly travel I20 from Tx to Alabama. I’ve noticed that the truck downshifts to maintain speed more often and even into lower gears than before. I bought this new in 2003, the 2500 pre MDS 5.7 with 2 wheel drive and 545rfe trans. The engine replaced in ’08 by the dealership under warranty, has 200K miles and the rest of the truck has 250K miles. Looking for possible issues. It’s not burning oil and I already had the tranny flushed and just replace the t-stat last month as it started to run a little hotter, that fixed that issue. i have some age related other issues such as front and rear main seal seepage and rear differential pinion seal leak.
