How to Reset "Change Oil" Warning?

N/M please delete...after 2 weeks of trying to get it to reset I posted this thread, went outside to take pics and...I got it to reset. I swear...

I have had that happen on my 2500 - I did the reset a few times and once I drove it around a bit and it finally refreshed. Might just be slow to reset?

For future ref, there is a video on Youtube showing you how to do it ... I have to call it up every 3 years or so ... Something with the key, and hitting the gas pedal 3 times ... It’s the same procedure the dealer uses

In case someone come looking for the answer:

Place the ignition in the “ON/RUN” position. Do not start the engine.

Push the accelerator pedal slowly 3 times within a 10 second interval.

Turn the ignition off.

When you start the vehicle again, the Oil Life will be reset.


Trucks with the 7" EVIC can reset it through the dash.

Its usually based on time and temperature. From all the vehicles I have owned they never really go much over 8000 miles for my type of driving

I have never gone much over 4000 miles changing oil on my own vehicles. When I 1st started driving, and when I did my 1st engine rebuild around 1987, I was changing oil every 2000. Just because.

On my rams, it typically resets for 10K, unless the algorithm says otherwise
