I'm trying like hell to get a custom tune from flyin Ryan. But getting those guys to communicate is proving really tough.

Hughes engines offers custom tuning on SCT.

Should I just go with them?

Anyone know why Ryan is so hard to get to return emails?

Ryan is also currently working on getting his own shop setup at the moment. If you're just emailing him for info, chances are you won't get it. Chances are good that you'll only get replies if you buy a tune package.

Are there any questions you have about it?

I have cash in hand ready to order. Should I just place my order and blindly hope that gets a response out of him? I'd hate to fork over money not knowing what the outcome will be.

Do you have a wideband 02 and gauge installed or is that in the package you're looking at? Personally I'd get that stuff setup BEFORE buying tunes simply for simplicity sake

Wideband 02 and gauge? That's the first I've read about those...?

Sean from hemifever did mine back in the day, he did a good job on it.

If its just a basic tune for stock with bolt ons no need for a wide band and data logging. If you have a custom build then yes to wide band and data logging.

Hughes is a reseller. They don't tune anything. They send it out. I'd check Sean Powell Hemifever or Jay Greene in Tx.

Might as well give me $100 to try tuning it with a calculator and twisting the distributor. You'd have better luck.

Here's why Ryan is the one to conveyer for a custom tune:

There's a problem with the handhelds. Ryan isn't tuning for a while.

I've only heard great things about ryan. I got in contact with him a month or two ago, he must have been available right then becuase he got back to me immediately. He was straight forward about exactly what i'd need, no crap no time wasted. His prices are very fair for what he is doing, I was able to take a peek at an engineer's computer while I was working at Kenworth, let me tell you, that is complicated and involved stuff. I've never heard anything bad about Ryan, I did some intensive research before choosing who i'm going to use to get rid of the deathflash on my truck. I wouldnt let anyone but Ryan come within ten feet of my truck, becuase I cant afford money wise or time wise to get a new truck or engine becuase the tune someone gave me screwed it up.

In short, without my truck I lose my job, I only trust Ryan to do it right.
