My 2008 Ram 1500 5.7, the vent control on the HVCA will not change vents, The heat and fan controls work fine. Is it vacuum that controls it?

I don't know about the 2008s, but my 2007 wouldn't change air flow to anything. It would only blow out the vents, no defrost or floor. Then, it would only blow AC, no heat.

All 5 HVAC door shafts were broken. I am in process of replacing all of the doors. Problem is, you have to pull the dass to get to the HVAC box, then remove the box and take it apart to replace them. The best doors out there are from blend door USA and they aren't cheap. Over $300 for all 5 of them.

Good luck.

There is no vacuum to the HVAC controls, it's all electric. Your blend door shafts are broken at minimum. Might wanna check your recirc door as well.

@53jimc any chance you took some pictures of the process?
How did you manage to break *ALL 5* blend doors?

I've got a rotten feeling that if the pivot shafts are plastic and cast into the door, they've managed to succumbed from "Plastic Fatigue".. Granted,it's odd as Sin that they'd all go.. I'm simply conjecture as I've not had these troubles on my 2005 1500 single cab,but after reading this,I'd better get ready to do a "Preemptive Strike" on this issue prior to it jamming my eyes out when defrosted would really be needed..!! Ughh...
