I forget to mention that I run a standard paper air filter. Nothing special going on there.

Mine has been doing the same thing for a while now. As OP said, usually when turning uphill and getting on the gas. Getting off for a sec then back on always clears it up. Definitely feels a lot like wheel hop although I also tend to think it's something else.

I have a performance replacement filter but it's a dry filter so can't imagine how that would affect anything.

I cleaned the MAF and MAP sensors today and replaced K&N with FRAM XTRA GUARD paper filter. Unhooked battery and reset TPS with the directions I found online. Still no difference that I can tell.

To me it feels like even with Tow/Haul on or gear selector in +6- it still feels like the MDS is working and letting truck rpms drop too low when having foot barely on the throttle. Making truck sound like it's not getting enough gas. Then when you drop the throttle it sounds choked until the rpms pick up and it catches and revs way up. Maybe my TPS is bad. Or something else is wrong. Never had a bad catalytic converter so not sure what that is like. And I still don't think it's tranny or torque converter issue. But can't be sure till it goes in the shop.

I'd rather just trade this thing off. I've had it to the shop more times in 8 months than I've ever had any of my other vehicles. And I bought this thing brand new. Should've gone diesel rather than attempting to try out this new 6.4L. Hind sights a you know what!

My truck just started spinning in snow. And when the traction control kicked in it sounded and acted like it does when the truck starts hesitating like I described in the first post. What's up with that?

It's killing the power to stop the spinning...try shutting off your traction control and see if it still does it..... Maybe it's acting up?

The hesitation happened again today. It isn't as much like the traction control as I thought. It's getting worse it seems. My truck has to be floored to get any kind of power. And I've used a quarter tank of gas in about 30 miles. I usually get 14 a gallon. And now my trucks averaging 6-8 mpg. It sucks. The more I steam over it the angrier I'm getting. 8 months old and this truck is turning to junk.

I don't think that's it. Not that I've felt both things happen today. The thing I notice most as time goes on is that my throttle often feels like it's not supplying the correct amount of gas unless I really stomp on it. Even going up hill trying to maintain speed the gas seems like it backs off and my engine sounds sluggish like it's choking.

It kinda sounds like it's running too rich. The throttle response will be soggy, until you get enough rpms to use the excess gas, At which time it will take off like a ba$****. Do you smell excess fuel? you'd think it would be throwing a bunch of codes. Check all your engine compartment grounds. On early FI a bad engine ground could make it run crazy rich.

Until you can get a video of it happening no one can diagnose it because no one knows exactly what it is doing. It will stumble and run like crap until it down shifts, then it will take off.

I didn't notice anything abnormal with the rpm and engine noise. I did notice the tcase shifter moving . Wierd, I know for a fact my truck has done this too. I was making a right turn going up a hill. It was right after I got my leveling kit and a m/ts. I thought it was either wheel hop or loosing traction. My titan would do that when I would break rubber.

You guys are much more knowledgable than I but would it be worth a shot to have the dealer scrub/delete the whole computer and reinstall all software or whatever controls the engine and drivetrain?

Mine did it before my tuner and after it, I'm going with it is a bad torque converter but that is just me.

Mine does the same thing but I have only noticed when I make a right turn on a slight incline and not every time when I make this particular turn. To me its almost like it is in a higher gear and trying to push the beast up the hill and having a hard time. Once I lift off the gas for a second or two and then hit it again it is fine. It is a very weird thing but I have kinda gotten used to it not that make its right....lol Next time I take it in I plan on bringing it up to see what they say.

It's almost like the truck needs to be in a situation where it's under load (like going up a grade) where it's lugging. Mine does it turning right or left. But always in a lugging situation. Sometimes it does it when driving straight up an incline. If I slow or let off the accelerator, then get back on the throttle....when it starts to lug and I give additional gas it begins to hesitate and lurch.

Hey op, any updates? My truck did twice tonight, I'm a little concerned. Only does it if I ease the throttle.
