I just ordered the PowerStop Z36 full kit off Amazon two days ago (and it arrived this morning - one box - poor ******* that had to deliver it). I had originally just ordered pads affter hearing a grinding noise on a trip home. Pulled the rear wheels and found three ok pads, but the inside pad on rear passenger side was down to metal and doing a decent job or turning down the rotor. I'm assuming the caliper pins are stuck on that wheel. The Z36 pads had a great rep - I figured rotors should be good too. I saw both the Callahan and Detroit Axle, and they had decent enough reviews too (and they were cheaper by $100-$200). The Powerstop kit for 4 wheels was $381. We do a lot of hill driving and the truck is full of humans and stuff (and sometimes trailer as well), so I figured go with "the best". I had zero interest in drilled and slotted, but there was no other option showing. Interestingly, Amazon said that I could get them installed for $216 "for the kit" - a lose lose, since I would not pay more than that for the job, but I would never let anyone do a complete brake job who was charging $200 to do it - so I'm doing it tomorrow. Biggest pain in the **** is compressing the calipers - I got a Harbor Freight tool kit for it, but the last brake job I did it didn't help much. I've already pulled the backs off once to resolve an e-brake issue, so hopefully they come off easier this time.
