I'm 64 years old, I've owned a gazillion cars and trucks, including some really advanced technology ones (hybrid drive systems with regenerative braking) and I currently have 2 other vehicles that are less than 2 years old. I just received in the mail today ANOTHER recall on my '13 3500. I've NEVER owned a vehicle that has had so many trips to the dealer for recalls. I'm still on a 2 month waiting list for the water pump recall too.

Contact @ramcares on here and talk to them about speeding up the repairs.

Hi Alphawolf,
We understand how this can be frustrating and regret to hear of this. We would like to look into this further and see if there is any opportunity to assist. Please send our team a private message with additional details.

I look at it differently... There's 3 ways to address issues. 1: Ignore it and hopefully the vehicles age out and nobody files a legal class action i.e. General Motors ignitions that would shut off and airbags wouldn't work. 2: Issue a Technical Service Bulletin and instead of fixing ALL the vehicles affected, just fix the ones the problem happens to or the ones the customer KNOWS about the TSB. The rest get billed and pay out of pocket. 3: Issue a recall. All vehicles affected get letters notifying owners, they all get fixed.

I like a recall because they either know the issue is bad enough it should be fixed or they're worried they'll get into trouble later if they don't fix it. Either way... they acknowledge it and want to fix it.

Chrysler got slammed a few years back for being very reluctant to issue a recall. NTHSB penalized them aggressively.

So I think you are seeing the pendulum swing and remediation, rather than less well built vehicles.

I'm sure we're paying for it in sales price and shop labor rates, but its better than waiting to find out until the drive shaft drops out, the steering seizes or the diff locks up while towing.

I am on recall #14 on my 2014 3500. Granted some of the recalls were just firmware flashes. Still having to waste 5 gallons of fuel to visit the dealer each time... that many times adds up. Its gotten to be kind of a running joke with my wife.

I bought a 2500 that sat on the lot for 9 months, thus all recalls were taken care of by the time i drove it off the lot

I did the same recently, bought a 2500 off the lot and it had sat there all of last year. So on the plus side they did all of the recalls on it already. I bet I will get some more recalls, otherwise what will I do with all my free time?
