Nothing political about that if that is what you are concerned about.

I am kind of torn on this topic. A lot of people automatically consider EVs to be environmentally friendly when we know they are not. And then some people just write them off as being completely useless.

I think there is a legitimate use case for some EVs out there.

Just for pure fun, I'd love to rip around in a Plaid but no way I am spending that kind of money on one haha.

Edit: sorry, just realized I totally ignored the video you posted. Don't think I can blame Wyoming for wanting to ban EV sales. I think states that are banning gas engines are absolutely crazy. I can't imagine in my lifetime I will see a state that does not have gas or diesel powered cars driving around.

Unless there is some major technical breakthrough in battery storage, any area that regularly has weather that hovers/drops below 20°F on a regular basis the EV just won't work for people. For some people a trip into town can be 50+ miles one way, in the dead of winter an EV range will be severely reduced. Those +300-400 mile EV ranges are in good weather temps.

I have little use for an EV. In my area they just aren't practical...
But I will say I really love my wife's Grand Cherokee 4XE PHEV...
Yesterday was the first time I filled it up in a month and it still had over half a tank...
It still has all the offroad chops of a Grand Cherokee. In fact last year I drove it to work all winter long in pretty crappy conditions and never once felt like I should have taken my PW...

Though it's true, under 20F it pretty much runs on gas only...

Just as a heads up, a lot of us don't use Facebook. I think you'd get a wider audience (of people under 60 :D) to respond if you put some idea of what the link was about when you put these threads up.

I'm not under 60 but refuse to use FB.

If you test a posted FB link, quite often you can hit the X on a join window or click beside the window and still view content.

You're sometimes limited in how far you can scroll down but usually you can see the top section, at the least.

I can't remember the last time I launched a FB link and didn't get to see some content.

You can, yes. I think a lot of people don't realize that if you do, you might as well just sign up. Else, Facebook just assigns you an id, sort of a shadow membership, and still makes money and dishes out ad targeting by profile building on your 'non-member' account.

I tend not to click links both due to that and because clicks drive the attention based economy and I'd rather not feed most of the places wanting a click.

I'm not familiar with this particular conspiracy theory.

I know that both my android phone and Windoze PC are both locked up pretty tight.

Both have ad blockers and I rarely see any spam adverts, let alone targeted spam.

I accept cookies from Amazon, just to make my life easier and do see a bit of targeted spam on that site.

No theory. They had to disclose it due to EU regs. I let Google and Amazon sniff around because I get something I value in return (Google maps, for example). Facebook can EAD.

Didn't suggest you do, just an actual subject line would work, then people would at least know if they wanted to look further into it, respond, etc.

I like the sentiment here. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, right? The banning of ICE engines at X date is stupid, anti freedom and anti American. I think electric vehicles should be available for people drive same as any other type of drive system available. These technologies should absolutely have to stand on their own merits though. They should not be propped up by laws or government funds.
