Need new tires and winter will be here in a few months. Ohio winters can be bad and I'm looking for a good tire that will do good in rain, snow, and some off roading (usually only when hunting and etc.)

It's between the Goodyear duratracs and Cooper descoverer a/t 3.
Both seem to be good and my set up is 265/70/17.

Anyone have either tire and what do you think?
I've been doing lots of research and now just wanting to hear what other ram guys have to say.

Thanks :)

I have not had any experience with either of those tires...Hopefully someone that has will chime in soon.

My buddy has the duratracs in your same size and we had no problems last winter in his f150

I would vote for the coopers. I have the zeons and have been very happy w/ them so far. Good road manners, longevity of tread, and all season capability. Good luck on your purchase.

also in ohio (columbus) and recommend the cooper zeons as well. Have had them on for about 10k miles or so and have been very happy with them. Nice rugged/offroad look, quiet on the road (just the slightest hum sometimes from them on the freeway), and so far do great in the snow/rain, etc. Seems like they are wearing a bit quickly though, could be due to some burnouts and doughnuts though heehee. I would highly recommend either the cooper zeon or nitto trail or terra grappler's, have seen many dodge owners with these as well

sounds like the Coopers are the main choice here.

toyo's are going to be significantly more expensive...at least when i was looking for replacement 20's....$850 for my coopers or $1300 for toyos.

Hmm yeah it's like $250 a tire for toyos. One only grip for having 20's.

As mentioned, the Nitto Terra Grapplers are an awesome choice as well. Had about 10k on them when I traded in the truck, and with routine rotation, they showed little to no wear. Did awesome for me in the rain, snow, mud, and other general offroad situations. I was running 295/70/17s.

Out of your current choices, Id have to vote for the coopers as well. Had a set of discoverers on my old GC, and they were pretty good.

I was looking at the Duratrac, Cooper Discovery, and Dunlop Maxx Traction. I had myself talked into the Dunlops but apparently the are discontinued. I will probably go with the Coopers since ther are $140 a tire cheaper

Newbie here. I have had coopers on my two old rams and now have the ATR on my 2008. They are excelent on snow with some added weight. As an Assistand Chief in my FD I run in all conditions. For the price you could not do better.
