Most of us run an edge converter I have a 3000 and love it. I don't really know what applications they have for the 4.7, but Andre is a great guy to work with. So is Matt with Moes performance.

Out of curiosity, and pardon me is this seems like a total NOOB question but what would be the benefits of a torque converter and what does it typically cost to have it installed? Ballpark cost?

The benefit is basically it get the engine into the powerband quicker by not allowing lock up down low where the engine produces hardly any power. It also cleans up the shifts and makes for less rpm drop through the gears. Usually a converter runs between 500-1000$ depending on what you want. Install really depends on your shop, I don't know since I installed mine myself.

I have one of Moes 87mm TBs with supporting mods such as intake , exhaust, and tune you will see a difference in the upper end pull of the truck or at least I did.

Yeah, the torque converter takes away the sluggish start off the line. It performs very much like stock under normal driving condition but at WOT it flashes to about whatever the stall is.

Best performance mods for these trucks is a tq, long tube headers and a custom tune.

From what I've heard, it's like a whole new truck with the converter.

Defiantly agree on everything said by BlkRamRt. Only difference being is I have BBK shorties not long tubes but even those are a vast improvement over stock.
