Hi group, the instrument cluster on my 2012 1500 Express is the base model cluster. I wanted to put the higher trim level cluster in and add the buttons on the steering wheel. My question is would I have to get a new clock spring as well as the left steering wheel buttons and the new cluster.

I swapped steering wheels on a 2015 1500 Tradesman I used to own with one from a 2015 2500 Laramie. The radio buttons worked without doing anything but I would have needed to swap out the clock spring to get the heated steering wheel to work. I swapped the buttons from the Tradesman wheel onto the Laramie wheel because I wanted to keep the shift buttons.

No idea about the gauge cluster though.

Just an FYI,you can only use clusters from 09 to 2012 in your 12,the clusters from 13 up don't plug into your wire harness

Is there no adapters or work around that anybody knows of?
The trucks went through a fairly big electrical transformation between 12 and 13,the cluster and it's wiring being a big one. I don't know if you'll have much luck finding an electrical adapter to put the 13+ clusters in a 12 or older truck. If you do,make sure you post a link to it.
