Hey Fitz thanks for the reply. I haven’t seen anything near 1.9-2.9 in the last few months down here in Texas.
Yep rates are up across the board. Re checked our area C.U. New car, best credit score, 2.99-3.99 for shortest term.

And don't let the dealer try to tell you you have to wait X number of days to pay off the loan arranged by them in order to get the additional "cash back". You can pay it off as soon as you like (next day even) if you've lined up a better finance rate. The dealer is just worrying that they are going to lose their % on the financing and they will tell you anything to keep that money. Once you do the deal and drive off, you're price is your price.

This is wildly correct, it only prevents the dealer from getting any incentive they get from the bank, which sometimes is what the assume to make your deal.

^^^^All of the above points are good reasons to keep the dealer out any financing. When they are involved they get vig that you pay. Their rebate or buy rate on the financing can come out to a couple grand on a payment buyer.

Well said @Fitz87gn , just another way for the dealer F&I department to stick their hand in you pocket and they think you're to stupid to know.

Just like them trying to get you to pay their "add on over sticker" prices for warranties, paint protection, fabric protection, PPF film, undercoating, window tint, nitrogen in tires and whatever other stupid greedy money maker **** they can dream up to pad their pockets.

I got 2.9% for 65 months on a used 2018 from RBFCU in Austin, Tx, in October. The rates are out there, it just takes a little legwork to find them.

Checked them already. 3.7% for that length now.

What are they going to do when rates go back up to where they were 25 years ago? I got 2.24 two years ago with an average credit score. How many people are going to want to finance a $50K plus vehicle for 60-84 months at 6-7%? Those were good rates back in the day. Interest rates should have never been artificially kept this low for this long. I guess somebody learned something from the Carter years.

I let my dealer put my info into their computer and attempt to beat my credit union....they did.

3 Banks came back and I ended up with US Bank, 72 Months, 2.66%.

The next best was Wells Fargo at 2.75% but I'd pay a higher interest rate before I went with that horrid company.

Mid 700's for a FICO here. I thought the 2.66% wasn't too bad. My credit union that I have checking/savings at wouldn't do better than 3.29% or something.

I just bought a 2019 Bighorn new body style and received a $500.00 rebate for using Chrysler Capital for financing.

gents 3% interest on auto loans is stupid sweet. Glad to see you guys getting a rate that you deserve. Surprised to see dealers willing to beat great rates. No vig for them in those deals. But,,,it is true. Rates will get back "normal"

While waiting on arrival of my new RAM 1500, I got pre-approved for a loan from Community Resource Credit Union with terms of 1.99% APR for 54 months. Home branch for CRCU is in Baytown, TX.

So I am going to pick up my new 2019 Laramie Longhorn loaded later this week. I have a 846 score. What rate would you suggest I set might sights for. It is a 60 k tab and I plan to put 20 k down. Suggestions?

Hoping for the same results. Picking up my Ram next week. Best offer I could find among my credit unions is 2.99% @60 months.
