Has anyone painted the interior of their truck a differnt color? I'm planning to put some custom seat covers on that are black/beige. And im thinking i would like to paint interior to match. Does anyone have a black/beige interior with pictures, I'd like to see what pieces are what color. Also any tips on how to accomplish this would be helpful as well.

Oh sorry. Basically everything. I hate the grey color of the door panels and the dash top being differnet than the bottom like where the glovebox is.

Painting all of that is, in my opinion, a waste of time. The traffic the doors get will rub the paint off in no time and make it look terrible, and the dash will need to be completely taken apart and redone in a couple years, plus a couple things would not be able to be painted, such as your steering wheel, which would make it look funny.

With that being said, I did the upper portion of my interior black, because I didn't like the tan.

I saw your post on the change you did. Never see any pictures though. I was under the impression there was special interior paint that would not chip and rub off? Am I wrong about that?

You can go to pretty much any local auto parts store and pick up interior paint. I'm sure others will chime in...but the big things are to clean the pieces and let them dry first. Using an adhesion promoter will also help. And, just like any other spray paint, less is more.

Yes. No paint will not rub or chip. It is possible to have everything wrapped in either leather, suede or vinyl, but even that will be expensive and may wear down over time. The paint I used was Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric Paint. Letting it cure for at least a day makes it somewhat resistant, but I will definitely be redoing it in the future.

If you go all the way with sanding it down, adhesion, sand, primer, sand, paint, clear, remember that you will lose your texture. And once again, no promise it won't mess up and that you will be able to do all the interior pieces.

Edit: I will say my upper interior project was fun though.

That's what I did...had everything wrapped.

Who are you talking to lol sorry?

I was just looking at blackedouthemi thread on his interior color change and didn't see any finished pictures.

I also saw yours and thought that material you used to wrap was crazy cool.

Never really did get any finished pictures. Haha. Just a couple. But no close ups. All shots from the drivers door. 875f06e2.jpg
