Has anyone on here built an inverted T style linkage to replace the stock inverted Y? I'm looking for two pieces of information

1)If you built one what TREs did you go with? pics?

2)The size of the TRE sockets in the knuckle I cant find it anywhere online so before i go outside and take it apart to measure I was wondering if anyone knew the size (w/ taper degrees (7?)) off hand?
I want to see if i can find 1 tons that fit the stock sockets I was comparing replacement ends and the 1/2 and 1 ton use the same parts for 3 of the 4 ends. Are Dodge 1/2 ton ends over sized or are the 1 ton ends undersized?

The 98.5 1 ton "HD" steering or '08.5 "HD" steering both fit. The tre taper is the same.

If you can't find the pt#s on google I have them, just not within reach.

There's also a crossover steering that can be built from 1t GM tres and DOM tube but you'll need a welder or you can have one built. Next to Thurens crossover setup that uses Heim joints, it's the toughest out there.

I like the crossover but i don't want to use heims because they wear out slightly and there is a good chance that they will cause play in the steering. ill check into the hd and see if i can find the ends i need thanks

For those still curious, searching, or wondering why bother...here's a list of parts needed to convert to "T" steering using the 98.5 1 ton setup.

Heres a listing of the parts that fit a '99 and earlier Ram. I have Moog numbers.
2000 and up use a different number for the pittman arm TRE, or you need a 99 and earlier arm.

DS 1459 RH, to DS1456
DS 1456 RH Outer
ES 3496 LH Outer
ES 3497 To Pitman arm

Adjusting sleeves
ES 3498S
ES 2012S

BTW....2000 and newer will need ES 3527 for the ptiman arm TRE. Dodge changed the taper in the pitman arm in 2000.

This was/is one of my best mods on my truck. Steering input is instant, both wander and bumpsteer were significantly reduced as well. With 143k+ miles I have yet to resort to steering box adjustments and other tricks.

I got the mopar 08.5 T steering linkage for my 06. Did a lot of other upgrades at the same time but over all it was awesome. 8lugtruckgear.com sells a full set.

I'm also told the factory 08.5 stuff bolts in on 2nd gen rams as well. But I haven't seen an actual install yet.
