Not derailing from my rebuild thread but I have an issue on my new engine. I noticed a little steam coming from the header on the passenger side. I am looking at it while the engine is purring and i see clear fluid dripping from the rear corner of my valve cover gasket down onto the header. I swear it looks like it bubbles from the gasket itself and drips down. Where in the blue moon could this be coming from? i am praying that it is dripping from somewhere and i just haven't found it yet. If no one knows i will post a video of it as soon as i can. Man a body lift sure does make it a lot easier to deal with things !!

the coolant i used was autozone 50/50 and its clear. I cant see anything dripping. It will actually bubble from the valve cover gasket. I did eliminate the stock pcv system and now i am wonder if i have way to much crank case pressure building up? still clear fluid at the valve cover? I am lost.

Now that's a 1st, never seen clear coolant! If you were over presurizing you would most likely blow your dipstick out. How's oil look? How's coolant look? Have you inpected freeze plugs? Don't want to go bad head route yet!

I'm gonna lay odds on overpressure in the valve cover area, how hard to undo your PCV mod and revert to stock to see if it stops?

Some oils can look clear when leaking, that's why they use additives and UV lights to find source of leaks at certain dealers (GM yes, dunno Mopar)

Your Crankcase has to breath
Originally all crankcases had a dump tube, the correct name was a Draft Tube or road draft tube.
It came off the side of a 6 cylinder & the rear of a 8 cylinder
It was at least a 1" metal tube that relieved the pressure directly from the crankcase

International Harvester 6 cylinder, the tube is blue, hanging just below where the oil pan bolts to the block

The manufacturers had to block the tubes off, using freeze plugs, until they cast new blocks & the hole was no longer open
That is when they began using the PCV valve in the valve covers, with a hose that went directly into the air cleaner housing

If it was too much crankcase pressure it wouldnt be clear fluid leaking. It would be oil that's leaking and that wouldnt be a clear fluid. Does the steam have an odor? If it was antifreeze it would have a sweet smell to it. Also check the heater box drain tube that sticks out of the firewall on the right side.

I made a video and and this is a still shot from it. I caught some in a cup stuck a match to it and boom. Its gas. The second from the front on the passenger side fuel injector is not properly seated and it was sending fuel down between the valve cover and the intake traveling around the cover to the lowest point and dripping onto the header. Luckily I did not burn down my shop and destroy my truck. Thank you guys for all the suggestions. I am going back stock on the PVC hoses. Now all i need is a picture of a 4.7 and where the hoses routed to. Oh and fix the injector.
