I’m looking to upgrade my stereo to a Kenwood touchscreen here shortly and I here a lot about this maestro interface thing. My 09’ is a pretty simple truck and does not have steering wheel controls, I here the maestro is a must have if you want to retain the steering wheel controls. It seems like a pretty opinionated question but I’m just wondering if its worth it to buy the maestro if I don’t have steering wheel controls and I’m not geeking out about being able to view engine numbers, temps and other things. Just wondering if I can get away without it is all.

Not worth it. I didn't use one on my 2010 or 2012 SLT'S that I owned. It's a must if you have a 2013+ with a ra2 (5" touch screen or 8.4" or did the premium cluster swap with a base truck) where some options and controls are handled through the radio

What's a decent replacement radio etc? I have 2015 ram 1500 ecodiesel lonestar. I'm not wanting to spend much... Yet there has to be a better radio, one where I can share my phone, nav, on screen.

Not sure exactly yet, I know there’s a whole thread a couple pages back with a gent who asked the very same question and got a ton of good responses.
