Is my cold start normal?

those flowmasters are more quiet that my magnaflows..i always thought it was the other way around. mine growls before settling into a rumble at starts...cold/warm alike.

Just doesnt seem normal. It revs at about 1300, then goes to 1400. You can see the needle bobbing around before it starts a steady decline.

The 70 series flowmaster I went with is one of their quietest internally I believe.

I would love for some input for 2013 1500 5.7L owners on their cold starts.

i know you are looking for input from a 2013 owner, and i am sure one will chime in soon.... however that is exactly what mine does. from my understanding in speaking with other hemi owners this is normal.

That's pretty normal: high idle to sustain ignition while the engine heats up and then a drop to low idle once the temerpature parameters are met.

My truck does the same...its normal.

it used to be called "open loop". It goes "open" then "partial" then "closed loop".
