Is the Ram 2500 Cummins the most fuel economical amongst 3/4 ton to one ton diesel pickup trucks?

You mean the weight of the engine itself cummins is the heaviest? The Cummins is the heaviest of the big 3, next is the 6.7 V-8 Powerstroke, followed by the 6.6 V-8 Duramax being the lightest of the 3. The 6.7 Powerstroke, and the 6.6 Duramax have aluminium heads, while the hefty inline 6 cylinder 6.7 Cummins has cast iron heads. Ford dropped the sequential turbos, and replaced it with a larger single vane turbocharger, on improved fuel injection, and an upgraded cooling system. As far as the mileage goes Cummins comes in last place, but the most important thing is 30 years from now which one will be on the road still kicking. That of course is the Cummins, the Cummins has proven itself being in the Ram trucks since its debut in 1989, and has proven itself since 1919. Being in semi trucks, school buses, generators, and the very first diesel powered to win the Indianapolis 500 in 1987.The 6.7 Powerstroke is Ford's in-house diesel since 2011 dropping International. The Duramax made it's debut in 2001, by Isuzu a Japanese based company. I was at the Auto show at the coliseum in Dallas Tx, seen some very interesting cars, and trucks. Test drove the Ram 15 model 1500 ECO diesel, and the 15 model Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi through an obstacle course. The 2016 Nissan Titan 1500 with the 5.0 V-8 Cummins diesel was there, it will make it's debut in a couple of months. The Toyota Tundra will also be coming out with a half ton with the 5.0 V-8 Cummins as well, sometime in 2016.
