E965B886-72C9-4D5A-802A-6FDB972F0238.jpeg Just bought some used tires and after inspection I saw this inside one of the wheels. It looks like it’s only in one of the wheels, so I’m thinking plug, but I’m not sure. Just wondering what you guys think it is?

Either as said above or some sorta stamp .....

It does have writing on it, but I can’t make it out. The problem is I only saw it in one of the wheels. My thinking is that if it were a stamp it would be in all the wheels. Unless they only stamp one per set? Hopefully someone will chime in who’s seen this before and is sure. Thanks though.

patch-plug... you can see where the tire was ground (roughened) to make the patch adhere. That said, nothing wrong with that.

And not a guess. 15 years work on a tire shop.

How many times can a tire be repaired? Thanks

pinholes? Tons... I'd say comfortably a half dozen... usually the tread wears out LONG before any "repair-limit" is reached.

The biggest problem is if whatever makes the hole breaks any of the steel belts.. enough of those and the tire starts to go out of round.
