Hey guys and gals, I was under my new 2500 the other day and seen this, it's a shock in the middle of my rear axle?

Definitely!! Must be there to help support the rear coil springs...

Your entire rear suspension is completely new. Notice that you have a coil spring rear suspension instead of the leaf spring rear suspension that has been in all the previous year model 2500's.

Hmmmm so are the 2500 now going to have the "lean". It drives me nuts. Kinda wanted a 2500 just for leaf springs

Oh, okay I haven't really notice lately on the 2500 about the leaf on the newer model, so do the 13's have them?

The coil spring rear suspension is new to the 2014 model 2500s. The 2013's still use leaf springs in the back.

The 3500's keep leaf springs in the rear still. The shock is to help control axle wrap and in doing so wheel hop.

Does towing capacity drop with this new suspension?
Also, is this on a CTD or Hemi 2500's?

This is the Hemi and no the towing doesn't drop, with the 3.73 gears the towing is 11,500 and the payload is 2,500 now with the 4.10 gears the towing is 13,500. Which the 3.73 is good enough for me because I don't have nothing heavy to tow yet but I will in the near future.
