Is Trimming needed for 20x12?

I’m looking to upgrade my 20x9 0 offset to 20x12 -24 offset. The shop I was at today said he would need to shave my bumper. Is that true?

Edit. I forgot to add that I have a 6” lift kit.

20x10-24 here and had to trim not much of the corners of the bumper or air Dam front lip whatever u wanna call it the black peace on the bottom but I also have 7” of lift

Running 20x12 -44 on 35’s. Had to trim a minimal part of the airdamn. Just from the top corner where it meets the bumper down on a 45° and even that was more than I needed to. Also on a 6” lift
