Has anybody tried the jet chip? I recently found one for a reasonable price but I didn't know if I was just going to waste my money. I'd like some input, or should I just save up just a bit more for a superchips. I'd like more input for the jet rather than the superchips because I know that is a good tuner.
Thanks

I had a Jet chip (it was the only "chip" available at the time) many years ago on a car I had. The only change I noticed was a lighter wallet. But that was a different vehicle at a different time.
I think the trans tuning of the SuperChips tuner would far out weigh any deal that you can get on a Jet chip. I wouldn't even consider any tuner other than the SC honestly.

Plus they lose credibility with me when they list their product as working with upgrades such as throttle body spacers.

Superchips actually works, and gives you the torque management options. Spend the money on the Superchips

Like mentioned, the Jet chips are junk. Save your money for the Superchips.

Between the 2, the Trinity is a better unit, but the 03's respond better to the Superchips tuners. You can get a brand new Flashpaq for just over $300, so it is much cheaper than both the Biablo and Bullydog units as well.

Edit: He's bang on. For an 03 i recommend the SC3865 as it works best IMO over Diablo unless you want custom tuning then again a crap shoot. The Trinity won't work and Bully forget it they are made more for the Coal Rollers. You don't have access to any trans tuning for 03 on SC but can change rev limit, speed limit, and tire size. 87 Tune works well on 89 Fuel and research i got says 12.7 HP @ 5350 RPM and 9.9 TQ @ 4350. On 91 Tune it is even better, 17.8 HP @ 3550 and 26.3 TQ @ 3550 so good low end.

The Jet was awesome back in the late 80,s on the 5.0 Mustang Cars and gave 38 BHP if you pulled the air silencer, map air screen and bumped timing to 12 Degrees. IT mounted onto the pcm and plug with a long bolt. With todays tuners not sure if it would compete.

You can do the TMR delete mod and spend 80 bucks on a sonnax and i guarantee you your Trans will love ya......and stay outta 2nd gear prime on the Highway. Danny

Ok. Thanks all, BTW is there any place that sells flashpacks for less than 300? Kinda want to save a little for that sonnax line booster

Didn't see it mentioned, the Superchips is the best one for an 03, but you won't get trans tuning.

So the superchips is the best one for my 03 but I'm really leaning toward the bully dog, mainly for the gauges and stuff because I'd like to know what going on in my engine. But is there any drawbacks to it?

You can probably get a used superchips and a bullydog watch dog for what you'd have into a gt tuner I think
