Jet chips

Hav a 02 ram 1500 with 4.7 and I’m thinking about doing jet chips stage one chip. Has anyone else used them or heard of anyone that has. Or is super chips better?

I know on my buddies diesel a programmer made a huge difference but will it make any noticeable difference with the 4.7. I’m more looking for mpg and a little extra boost while towing my 16 foot bass boat I’m gonna do the transgo shift kit here in the next week or two to help firm my shifts up.

What HemiLonestar said. SuperChips looks to be the best tuner for Ram trucks until you start doing performance upgrades.

Yea but it’s a 4.7 there’s not to many performance upgrades out there beside for CAI or exhaust or headers. Can’t find ho cams anymore tried to when I rebuilt the motor.

2008-13 4.7 heads (with cams) are bolt ons and are comparable to HO's, also 08+intake manifold. There are still a few things you can do. Go here for 4.7 stuff and advice: airram.com

Something to plan for, while they bolt right on you need to figure how to fire the second coil (has twin plugs with upper and lower coils) and either buy or make an adapter for your cable TB to fit the FBW manifold. Stock 08+ 4.7 was 310hp, shouldn't be too hard with those parts and a custom tune to get there.....or you can go forced induction.

I love my truck but I might as well call it a boat cause all I do is throw money at it haha but it was in rough snap when I bought it and I knew that so oh well it’s a passion. But I use to be a ford guy and they had all sorts of mods for there trucks but buy a 4.7 it just seems forgotten about even though they put that motor in millions of trucks and suv’s

That's the thing, it was ONLY in trucks and SUV's...not millions, maybe hundreds of thousands of Dakotas, Durangos, Rams & Grand Cherokees. I've noticed that an engine specific to a truck tends to get ignored, but if it's one that's shared across a car line, especially with performance variants, then it gets attention. 2003 through almost 2005 the Hemi was largely ignored by the aftermarket until the LX's showed up. Then all kinds of **** started happening lol. Look at Chevy LS engines and Ford modulars....all shared with cars and lots of aftermarket support.
