Has anyone tried it on a 2013 5.7 . I seen it on Jegs and they say it will work on a 2013 5.7. just wondering if it is worth it until Diablo or Superchips finally crack the codes .

Never been a fan of Jet products since I put one of their chips on my 1998 Trans Am. Nothing but issues with it. Surging, CELs, etc. I sent it back and won't make that mistake ever again.

Mikey, like the guys said, run away from those as fast as you can. They have actually been known to fry multiple PCM's over the years as well. I would hold off on the tuners until 1 is available from Bullydog, Diablo, Superchips, or even Hypertech.

In the meantime, you can still add an intake, exhaust, or ported throttle body. I confirmed with S&B this week that they did test fit their kits on the 2013's and they are good to go. I have also heard of guys making some of the other intakes work as well. Exhaust upgrades are simple if you are planning on just a muffler swap, and we have shipped out a few 2013 87mm Ported TB's already now as well. Same port design that we use for the 03-12's, but on the new 2013 core. It is working great so far.

Mikey, does your truck have the vent covers in the grille? I read about that being standard on the 2013's. If so, that is going to hurt performance with the Vararam intake. Since VR and S&B are the 2 best for these trucks, I would go with the S&B. They test fit 1 last week on a 13 and everything was good. They are very nice intakes...both looks and performance.

Doesn't the air for the vararam go over the grille and under the hood anyway?

I finally turned off MDS because it felt like I had a trailer hooked up when it kicked in and pissed me off. I figured that I could put in sport mode to turn it off and it would be the same as disabling it the through the tuner but it is not. When you put in sport mode it increases the RPM's by about 2k so now I have no MDS and the truck seems more powerful.

It pulls air in through the grille and over the radiator. I was under the impression that the new covers that block the grille would close up at highway speeds, therefore making the Vararam useless. I need to do some more research on the design and function of those grille "blocks/covers" though to confirm this.

No the early 2013 i believe do not have that function yet . I think that will be out in mid 2013 with the 8 speed trans and THE KNOB for PRND ...

That's good. In that case, the Vararam will be your best perfoming option, but the S&B is a solid kit as well. You wont go wrong with either.
