Those look freaking SWEET! I'd love a set of smoked tails, but this state is ridden with "people" who will intentionally rear-end you and sue because they 'couldn't see your taillights' hence, they will be left alone. Stupid ass NM.

that's a bummer.... how about adding a LED strip like in the pics of this thread?

You would prolly get a ticket but as long as you can prove that they meet the requirements for a taillight in your state the ticket could be removed, if u wanted to fight it. Example-Kentucky Law 189.055 Brake lights.
A person shall not operate any vehicle required by law to be licensed upon a highway unless it is equipped with a mechanical signal device which would indicate an intention to stop or suddenly decrease speed by illuminating at least two (2) red lights on the rear of the vehicle, which are visible from the rear a distance of not less than five hundred (500) feet, unless the vehicle was originally manufactured with only one (1) such red light on the rear of the vehicle.
Effective: July 12, 2006
History: Amended 2006 Ky. Acts ch. 173, sec. 4, effective July 12, 2006. -- Created 1970 Ky. Acts ch. 9, sec. 1.

So by putting brighter bulbs and adding the tailgate light bar i will definitely be within the law, plus neighbor is city cop, he's cool and said he didn't see any reason why I would have any issues-unless I changed states

Lol its all on the judge you get rear ended and fight it your not beating a lawyer if your tails are tinted and its not allowed in your state you basically boned

And to be honest i dont think the tinted tails are visible in the day at 500 feet no matter what bulb you got in them

Thats:naughty: true it would be up to judge, and they may not be visible from 500, I know there are several-several cars/trucks around town here with tinted tails-asked one guy in a chevy what bulbs he was using and he said whatever came in them from chevy. LOL said he had them on there a couple years. Hopefully I never have any issues, either way it is a risk I am willing to take because they are awesome!

I've even seen some cars with factory tails that I can't see on bright summer days.

It's a 49" lightbar I found on ebay for $25, super easy to put on and plugs into trailer hookup. The only thing I dont like is that the plug end has to come up over the top of the bumper and plug into the trailer hookup, not to noticeable but kinda bugs me, may try and isolate the wires and try a hookup behind the bumper when I have time.

got to you auto parts store and buy a curt T connector 55384 it will plug in right behind the bumper and into your stock harness and give you an extra flat4 to plug your light bar in behind the bumper for a nice clean install.
