Anyone have any idea of approximately how long the battery in the key fob will last?
I have the original that came with the truck from 2017 and I also have a new one I got from the dealer when we bought the truck in 2019.
Should I replace the battery just for piece of mind or am I worrying about nothing? We do go hunting and camping in very remote places.

It all depend on the battery, the battery in my wife's fob for her Toyota lasted about 3.5 years, yesterday I just used my fob for her car dash showed message for low battery for my fob, its used 60% less than hers...

For peace of mind I would change them. They are inexpensive and easy to change. I think battery life depends on what type of fob it is, and how often you use the features on it.

You can replace them if you wanted to. It's extremely easy. But on a side note, as you mentioned it, the fact that you go hunting and stuff in remote places is not going to affect you with having a dead battery in your remote. It still has a key in it to get you in the door and you don't need the battery to start your vehicle. That battery inside is only used for your remote door lock function and remote start function. The actual proximity part is an NFC chip that has nothing to do with the battery inside
