2016 Ram 1500 Alarm Issue

Good Afternoon, I have what i think is a weird on

My wife and I were asleep and at 2am my trucks alarm just decided to go off. Grabbed the key ran out hit every button the FOB, and it would unlock and lock the doors, but not turn off the alarm. Put the key in the truck, and started it, no problem starting, but alarm was still going off. Grabbed the 10mm un hooked the battery and went back to bed.

Next morning I plugged the battery back in, and the alarm still going off, as soon as the battery is connected.

Did some research and it is commonly mentioned that the key FOB battery can cause and issue, so i took my key apart (only have 1), cleaned it with some rubbing alcohol and before replacing the battery, in the FOB, I plugged the battery back in on the truck, Alarm still going off.

Replaced the battery on the FOB plugged back in the truck still going off, the key FOB still works (Unlocks, locks, starts the truck) the only issue is the alarm is going off.

Any suggestions?

It can also be the Hood Latch sensor or a weak vehicle battery.

Are you still running the original battery in the truck?

Did you try having the fob out of range of the truck before putting battery cable back on? When you had the fob apart did clean the contact for the "alarm" button?

There are many reasons that could be responsible, everything from bad fob battery, battery issue with truck battery or any of the sensors within the alarm system including one of the door sensors.
