Keyfob replacement

Is the 2019 classic key fob different from a regular 2019 ram 1500.? I am trying to buy one online and it keeps telling me it will not work on a 2019 classic. However the key fob picture looks identical to mine which has a remote start.

The “classic” trucks are based on the 4th generation truck while the non classics built in 2019 forward are 5th generation. I do not know if the 4th and 5th generations share the same programming and frequency. If you order a Fob for a 2018 it will work with your 2019 Classic.

You can not program a late model Ram fob without an electronic device that is capable of communicating with the RF hub. No old fashioned way of turning the key off and on a preset number of times or opening and closing doors in a particular sequence like the good old days.

You can program keyfobs with AlfaOBD for the Gen4 trucks. AlfaOBD will even pull the PIN number needed also.

I bought a new fob for my truck because I wanted the remote tailgate. A local locksmith programmed it for $10.

I agree with Atcer buy a fob for a 2018 and you should be fine. I found my fob on eBay. It was a used OEM fob and it looked new.

No issues at all. The locksmith warned me that the program may not take but he would still charge me, which was fine with me. Everything worked perfectly.

That is for the 5th gen trucks. The fobs are one-and-done. Once they are programmed they cannot be reprogrammed for any other vehicle.

Omg you would think that the dealer was programming a space shuttle lol took 2.4 hours to do 1 remote for a limited truck ‍. Beware Cris Nickles broken arrow OK lacking skills at the front desk lol

Just got a second fob for a Hyundai my wife bought (vehicle only came with one). $350 for the fob, $80 for the key insert (laster-cut to VIN), then $130 to program it.

Total out the door was $560...for just one complete fob.

My old 2003 Ford F-250 was $3 to get a key cut and $20 for a fob. I could do the programming myself in the driveway.

I also love the Santa Fe ! My son and DIL just picked up a 2019 CPO I think 40k on the clock from the dealer that sold it the first time !
I got my2023 Elantra SEL for birthday gift to me from me lol I spoil myself
Face Book has a couple Hyundai forums that are active as well as some from Goggle !
The Santa Cruz is my next car but I will be sure 2 FOB are in the deal
