So i searched and surprisingly could not find anyone else asking this.
I know about moving the fuse to disable the 12v plug when the vehicle is off and did that one day one of owning my 2021 1500. So i have all USB items plugged into a 12v-USB adapter BUT... using a wireless android auto adapter that Must be plugged into a USB port on the dash. Problem is those seem to stay powered all the time (does not turn off after one hour as many suggest). So you park the vehicle in your driveway and go in your house, and it keeps trying to connect to the wireless android auto adapter over and over because that has constant power. And before anyone says it, to save some time - Unplugging it every single time or disabling BT or WiFi is not an option for me. :)
Anyone find a way to disable the USB ports when the vehicle is off? :)

Thanks!

Here is information for the Gen 4, there are some threads here, if you read through you will find that some with a Warlock did this as well but had to slightly modify which side they moved for the wire pin.

Sounds good if it also works on the Gen 5 but splicing electrical wires on a vehicle still under warranty is probably not something I would risk doing. :)

I can tell you, on my 2019 (5th Gen), they turned off till they did a Software update in 2023. I went and timed it: Once turn off truck, after like 30 seconds the (2) USB's in console go active for 1 hour than turn off. And yes, I do have something plugged into the ports, but my ports do turn off after one hour.

Maybe you need a software flash? Just putting that out there as a thought. I know how I am and I hate when the dealership plays with the software. ALso, there is the cost they charge you just to check/diagnose stuff, so just a thought.

ADDED: Just a thought: You could put an online switch inline with the USB you use, could turn off/on when needed, you would have to pull the hub to splice in, but alas just another skerry thought.

They actually flashed mine a few months ago when i had a recall taken care of. Mine was still doing it this morning when i walked to that side of the house, showing the wireless android auto dongle was still active from when i parked the truck yesterday. Strangely it didn't do it with the Motorola MA1 which died and i just replaced with a different brand device. I think the Motorola was smart enough to know the vehicle was not actually running since it could not communicate with the truck and turns off WiFi. this new one does not know that and so keeps transmitting WiFi which my phone keeps connecting to. Might have to just return it and get another Motorola. MA1

THIS...

Having wireless android/apple auto is super handy and convenient. Just picked up a 2018 Ram 2500. When I am working from home and my phone is constantly trying to connect (does not power off after an hour), drains my phone. I do not want the hassle of unplugging it every time I get out of the truck, I shouldn't have to wire in an interrupt switch, and I shouldn't have to repin connectors to make it switched power vs constant.
