I really love the new styling of my 2019 Ram Laramie 3500 Duelly. But, one thing I noticed even before I purchased the truck is that the stock alum alloy wheels/ tires look way too small for how big the truck is. The rims are only 17 inches. They should be at least 20 inches.

At some point way before the tread wears out I believe I will want to change out and get larger wheels. I don't really want wider tires, but of course, taller. Also, I like the slotted design on the alloys. Just want larger/ taller.

Any suggestions as to how I might go about this? Thanks, much, in advance !

I was looking into this at one point and decided the boss lady would not be appreciative of spending close to $2k on rims and another probably $2k on tires.

19.5 inch wheels re available,

https://buytruckwheels.com/collecti...dodge-ram-3500-8x200mm-dually-direct-bolt-kit

235/80R17's are 31.8 inches tall according to the tire size calculator/comparison and 19.5inch rims with 265/70R19.5 inch tires will be 34.1 inches tall.

Thanks for looking into this for me and sharing the link, OC. I just measured the stock tire height and it is 30-31 inches tall, so 34.1 inches would be right. As they SHOULD be, stock. Why Ram puts these small wheels on a 3500 Duelly befuddles me.

I wonder how much my current alum alloy wheels are worth. They ARE nice looking. Just too small.

BTW, is that your Ram 3500 Duelly in your avatar? I have a white 2019 with the chrome package. I think I like your grill better than mine. My Laramie is neither a Big Horn nor the Longhorn. It's just a Laramie, but still with loads and loads of great options. .

Yeah, I guess if one were to get 6 Michelins of that size, they would be pricey. But I do like Michelin Tires. I suppose that with wheels and tires of that size, they would smooth out the ride quite a bit, too.

Yup, 2019 Laramie Longhorn 3500. It's a beast. I'm getting Firestone XT in stock size to replace the Nexen's. Was not impressed with the Nexen OEM tires in the snow. Might as well have had slicks on them.

Not sure if it would or not, you are technically changing a part of the drivetrain.

I was going to ask the service writer at the dealer about this but instead 1st emailed a Ram Cummins Tech friend I know. My truck came with a 4:10 rear differential.

I have 3.73 gearing in mine. I wish it did have the 4.10's. Would have a higher tow rating. :)

Just got my XT's on my truck. I didn't take pics of them though. They're much more aggressive looking and look right on the truck. Even though they look "small". LOL

I’m thinking of going to fuel D656’s 20’s with 275/65 20 tires to fill the wheel wells better. Cant stand the lil doughnuts they come stock with.
