Explain in detail this job and why it is needed at 150k.
How do you know you need it and what is the cost in it ?

It's the tolerance between the rocker arm and top of the valve
After so many miles it becomes out of spec, I've never adjusted CTD before but any of the motors I built you just use a set of feeler gauges on top of the valve and adjust till your in spec

Is there a power difference or different feel after adjusting them

I sent an email to my dad. I'll let you know what he says. I believe I have told you, he used to be a diesel mechanic.

but I dont think the performance changes, just that they can make noise when out of tolerance.

You'll see a tiny bit of performance. Maybe better combustion and ignition definitely less noise
A big thing is that if it gets to far out of tolerance you could bend a valve

Dave are you talkn valve lash?..........our cummins 903's on our old boats got done every 5-600 hours, helped to make full power, bout 200rpm increase, helped alot with smoke control to, or injectors were also run of the rocker arms. not sure if that helps at all, but at 5-600 hours, 5 out of 8 cylinders would be out of spec, and theres 4 valves per cylinder in those

Yes there is a difference in power before and after a valve lash is done.

Mine on all my trucks get done every 25k,no matter what the year truck is.

Its a simple job with the right tools and can be done in an hour once you have done it a few times.

Here is guide to go by and I know it shows a 12v motor but is the same on all the 5.9s.

I know you got your answer. But my Old man said its mostly a noise thing, slight performance gain may be noticed.
