Leaking power steering fluid

I started hearing a whining noise when turning the wheel one day just moving the truck in the driveway. After I moved it I found a nice oil spot under the truck. Turned out to be power steering fluid from a loose cap. My truck has 5,800 miles on it, not sure how it took this long to start leaking, didn't even leak enough to be topped off. It actually looked over filled. I put the cap back on tight and it's been fine since. Not sure if this happened from the factory or the dealer.
