I’m getting an aftermarket bumper installed and I need to get new foglamps/driving lights. I have seen several videos where people wired the aftermarket foglamps into the factory switch on Chevy’s but I know rams are a little more finicky. Obviously I would much rather use the factory switch and just splice into the factory harness but I know that may not be possible. Anyone have any experience or suggestions?

What year is your truck and what lights are you using, Watts/Amps?

My fist attempt was to wire directly into circuit by using 9006 to deutsch connectors, but I got a slight amount of intermittent flicker, so I then ran the relay. been perfect for about 4 years now.

@sbarron, did you use a fusetap at TIPM or just t-tap/solder the fog harness itself? Bosch SPST, pin 86?

I used a pigtail that plugged into the factory wiring harness where it would have plugged into the original fog lights, ran that to a relay and then back to the lights.

I am vehemently opposed to "tapping" any of the factory wiring. I've done my whole lighting system without so much as a pinprick to an OEM wire. More difficult and expensive? Hell yes. But I don't have any issues and if i ever remove the lights, neither will the next person.

You can never go wrong with that approach.

It’s a 2011 and I’m just using some 10w ones from amazon right now but did also have some 18w cubes hooked up before.

All I did was cut the factory plug off, test witch one was power then just crimped and heat shrunk the wires.
