Maybe an easier solution would be to change the brackets on your cubes somehow. Can you flip those to bring the lights further forward?

I really don't think mine are as far back as yours.

When I installed my brackets, I installed them on the front side of the bracket. Looks like yours is mounted behind.

Also, a relay IS A MUST!!
