Just curious, but if you buy aftermarket LED tail lights w/ housings, and your ram came factory with halogens, do you have to buy the LED bulbs to go in it, or does the factory wires just hook on the back of the housing to activate the lights? And also any recommendations on some good looking LED tail lights that would go with my “night” package on the truck. Thanks!

A lot of the aftermarket LED tail lights plug into the factory halogen bulb holders, there are also aftermarket ones made for trucks that were LED from the factory.

If my truck was halogen from the factory will the wiring harness tie right into the new LED housing? Meaning the LEDs are all sealed in the housing?

That's really going to be specific to the aftermarket light you buy, there are so many of them out there it's impossible to say what it will take.


This is definitely one of those places where saving money might end up costing you more by the time you get something that works properly.
