LED running board lights

I installed the lights and wired them up from the puddle lights and blinkers in the doors. The blinkers work fine and the white light comes on with the puddle light when I use the key fob. My problem is, when I open the door to get out of the truck the puddle lights and LED strip flash. Anyone else experience this? Is there a fix?

Did you use a relay? If not then add one, that’s way more draw then the puddle light circuit should have on it.

No I did not add a relay. I could add one (two actually, one per side). Or I might just tie it into the floor light so they come on only when the door is open. But I am still confused as to why they work perfect with the key fob, but not when I open the door.

Add a relay. Changing which circuit you overload won’t fix the problem
