So, its kind of a different question but one that needs to be answered. So in the summer we go to the drive-in movie theater a lot and im tired of just sitting in lawn chairs so a couple nights I put together a idea. Im sure everyone knows the notches in on the sides of the bed. Well I want to put 2x8 wood in three different sections. One by closest to the cab, one on top of the wheel well, and one closest to the tailgate. My question is how long do these need to be. I would go out and measure but it is currently snowing and I thought id ask first and see if anyone knew of the top of there head.

If I can get that figured out, im going to put a piece of plywood over that and then put an air mattress on top of that so me and my friend thats a girl, :naughty: ,can lay on it. So in all of that information, I really just want to know how long the 2x8's need to be. I know its not summer time but it will be here before you know it. :favorites13:

That measurement is kinda tuff to take, the slots are tapered, wider towards the top, narrower at the bottom.

Ill just have to go out when its dry and take the measurements. It should be a fairly simple project.

Do they really still have drive in theaters???

Where I live yeah! Its such a fun time. 10 bucks for two movies that are currently in theaters. Awesome experience to watch movies under the stars in the bed of my dodge lol Probably some of the most fun memories of summer!

I could be wrong, but I don't think you could get a whole lotta business done at a drive in theater if ya know what I'm sayin:naughty:

I'm thinking a bed rug and some blankets would do the trick... Or, they used make air mattresses with wheel well cutouts, might look into that...

Its more of a comfy factor than anything. I usually use my zero gravity chair in the bed but its not as comfy as an air mattress. lol

We head to the drive-inn theater once a week in the summer. Most of the guys with pickups just bring an old couch with them, put it on the ground and sit on that to watch movies.
